Under our current exhibition, "Every picture is an enigma", we have prepared a new activity in which the young collector Jordi Barón will present his collection of photography at Foto Colectania. This activity, designed to deepen collecting photography and knowledge of private collections in the city, will revolve around the following themes: advertising and fashion photography 1900-1960, vaudeville shows portraits of 1920-1960, naturist photography 1920-1950, reform of Barcelona and the opening of the Via Laietana 1907-1910, and unclassifiable curiosities.
Jordi Barón is a photographer, antiquarian and collector of photographs. For some years now he develops a work about the recovery of historical photographic heritage, both from family archives as files or unknown professional photographers, fairs and markets of all kinds. Focused on the period from the origins of photography to mid-s. XIX to the 1960s. As a photographer, studied at the Institut d'Photographic Studies of Catalonia and his personal work is closely related to the world of photo collecting himself and the past.
